Dragon age, PC PS3 or 360???

Oyeve

I finally found time to play this game (finished games I was in the middle of) but what system should I get it for? PS PS3 or 360???

From what I have read PC has high requirements (which my system in sig MAY be able to play and its cheaper than console) PS3 has a bunch of video glitches and the 360 has a lot of lag. I want to play this thing badly but am torn between which platform. Does the PS3 version utilize a KB/Mouse? If so I may go that route. I dont feel like upgrading my PC for a game and am more comfy playing my consoles on my couch. Online??? any help to sway me would be appreciated!!!

Definately PC. The menus are SO much easier to navigate, the controls are better, and you get the superior isometric view.

PC, vanilla is fine but there are also mods to improve loot drop and to allow respeccing characters. With the toolset there may even be new modules like with NWN 1-2.

For the PS3 get some exclusives like Ratchet & Clank ToD & CiT, Uncharted 1-2, Valkyria Chronicles, InFamous.

I prefer to play it on the consoles. I can Grease/Fireball with impunity on the consoles with no friendly fire damage 🙂.

I have it for PS3, there aren't that many video problems with it, and after a while you stop paying attention to them.

Sure the controls aren't as nice as the PC either, but I tend to play it in larger chunks, so slothing around on a couch is much more acceptable then sitting upright.

Then again my laptop is probably incapabale of running the game, so I really had no choice.

From the reviews I've read, the PC. This is assuming you have a system to handle it. I'm personally waiting a few months to get this game, because I should get a 5850 for my birthday in April. If you had a low-end system, then the PS3 would be the better choice, but that's probably pretty obvious.

You might need to upgrade your gpu if you want the best graphics. I haven't seen the requirements but I think you should be ok. Pc is still the ideal platform for gaming, control wise. Check out some reviews first. The console versions will not use k&m by the way. It might be worth renting first if you're worried about console performance.

I got it on the 360 and I am extremely happy with it. I just like sitting on my sofa and gaming this for hours. I definitely wouldn't be as comfortable on my computer as I am on the sofa (for such long periods of time). There certainly are drawbacks. For example, I got Oblivion for the PC because of all the mods, and for games like that and TF2 mods and player created content means a lot to me. However, in this case, I really like getting more achievment points. (Oh and also, I got Fallout 3 GOTY Edition and this game for $58 at Best Buy). I ordered in store pickup, and they mistakenly took Fallout GOTY off the shelf, not regular edition. Dragon Age was on sale ffor like $35 and Fallout Regular for 19.99. This was 11/28/09. For that kind of a price, it couldn't be beaten.

This is the type of game that really is best on the PC if your PC can run it. Manually targetting your AoE spells is a must on harder difficulty levels and much superior on the PC, as is the overall interface. In addition, the PC toolset means that more user generated content is coming.

I don't really play computer games anymore but I broke down and got it for pc. I heard the consoles didn't have the top down view and I'm a huge fan of bg and bgII.

Btw game is excellent

I'm sure the PC is better, but my laptop isn't capable of handling it, so I have it on the 360. I'm happy enough with it. Although seeing youtube videos of the isometric view makes me a little nostalgic for Baldur's Gate. And the shortcut bar for spells would be nice. Oh well.

I could have done without the map shortcut on the select button, and two buttons for scrolling through my party (one would have been fine for me) if you could map both of those for separate spell shortcut buttons.
