right... except I didn't see anything in google that looked like it was from a bioware site and I didn't want to randomly start downloading and installing .exe files off third party sites that I've never heard of before.

If it's set to do so....yes. It's usually set to download latest version by default. Check the settings to confirm.

Does the retail version of Dragon Age have an auto updater in the start menu like Neverwinter Nights 1, Neverwinter Nights 2, Kotor 1, Kotor 2, and most other similar RPG's?
nope. at least not that I could find.

wow, oddly enough it was the only game I seemed to have NOT set to auto update
Here ya go.
I believe the patch is cumulative, so it's the only one you have to install.
