Hey, i just got dragon age (PS3) and i was wondering if anyone has any character creation tips. I always hate screwing my guys up in the beginning since i dont understand the stats systems and then sucking at the game all the way through.

Thanks!

Ive got no idea really, i usually choose a physical barbarian type character for games like this. I havent actually played it yet, i'm gonna in a couple days but it always takes me forever to read up on things and figure out if i made a good choice.

ill read that, thanks!

Just set in your mind what kind of warrior you want early. If you want to use a shield, two handed weapon, or dual wield and go with that.

I played as a human noble on my first playthrough.

1) Pick only one weapon/power specialization and stick to it(like 2 handed, sword & shield, or dual weapons) it really doesn't pay to try to specialize in more than one.
2)Money is tight in the beginning of the game as well so don't waste your money on the tomes that increase your stats/powers.
3)Unless you are a rogue, always keep one rogue in your party or you will not be able to open many doors and chests.
4)Get the custom armor from Wade's as soon as possible as it is the uber-armor in the game and especially handy fighting the dragons.

You don't need that armor to fight dragons. You just need to casters. Send in your tank with taunt, then take turns putting him into a forcefield.*

*The above strategy works on all bosses. Those guys that come out of the little black vials as well.

Okie dokie, so ive played an hour or so. If I'm a human noble warrior who wants to use two handed weapons, what attributes should I focus on? Str/con (only?)?

What should I do for skills? I like having dialogue options so I did one in coercion...w hat next? Should I keep doing coercion or add to combat training?

Thanks! Seems like a lot of stuff to have to figure out lol. Fun game so far though!

75% Fire resistance from the custom armor set can be very handy. I wasn't talking dragon fighting strategy per se. if you really want to get in depth without buying the prima game guide, do a little research at one of the dedicated fan sites like http://dragonage.wikia.com/
