Dragon Age bug (maybe spoilers)

So I am in Ostagar and have gotten to the top of the tower of Ishal. I beat the ogre, click on the beacon, and nothing happens. Is there some trick to this? Do you need to do something with the large fire burning near the beacon or am I getting a bug? Anyone else run into this. I searched around but haven't found anyone else running across this big.
