Comes out today right? First to buy and try please respond :)

Myself I am going to hold off. Not sure why , DA was great but I am in no hurry to flop down 39.99 for an expansion. Bioware notoriously average when it comes to expansions ( as opposed to sequels. ).

Still I think this will be pretty good but short if I had to guess.

Friday release....

Still haven't completed DA:O yet. Awakenings is far too expensive for a DLC too.

I never finished Origins. I liked it well enough, but after putting 40 hours in and countless false starts while choosing a character, I can't bring myself to start from scratch again since I lost all my saves.

I loved Dragon Age but I put sooo many hours into that game I'm not sure I want to put even more.

Besides the DLC at release crap, another good reason for not having bought it yet.

I'm just now finishing up a full, complete, ~125-hour playthrough and to be honest the last thing I want right now, regardless of how much I've enjoyed it (and I have), is *more* Dragon Age. I'll wait until after some time has passed, I've played Mass Effect 2 and Assassin's Creed 2 and Bioshock 2 (which have all been waiting for me to finish DA), it'll go on super-cheap sale, and I'll be in the mood to revisit Ferelden and I'll pick it up and kick more darkspawn ass.

Too much money for too little content (and some caveats re: carrying over stuff from the first game), wait for a sale. Apparently the console versions work standalone but the PC is definitely an expansion requiring the original.

I'm still plowing through this game, but as much as I'm enjoying it, I'll need a break when I get done.

$40 for an expansion is pretty steep. I was thinking about using my reward zone coupons to pick it up but not sure if I want to just yet as I'm just about done with DAO with about 120 hours in.

Average? Personally I thought Throne of Bhaal was epic.

$40 is too much for an expansion though. I'll wait until it's half that price.

Does anyone have an original campaign endgame save they don't mind sharing? I hate even asking but I really would like to either play/see the end of the original or use it in Awakening.

This is exactly how I feel. I just finished a 90 hour playthrough and loved the game but I'm done with it for now. Might pick up the expansion some time later.

You got me on TOB for sure. But Baldurs gate is in a realm of its own.

I just thought NWN expansions were ok at best.

Even MOTB which many people loved - I was not crazy about it. The whole soul eating crap drove me nuts. Good idea as far as the story went but... ugh, I hated it.

I just have this weird feeling with all the DLC , that bioware is taking the make a quick buck route and this expansion is just not going to make gamers happy for 39.99. I liked Dragon Age enough though I am eager to see what players say about it and will likely get it when it comes down in price.

Surprisingly, I think this is a pretty reasonable expansion so far. A little overpriced, but good quality.

25 hours game play? I will invest in this! I did enjoy the Origins story and the story for this sounds interesting as well.

Was going to buy it the first day of release. But Bioware released a 1.03 patch for DOA in anticipation of Awakening and it broke lots of things. Bioware forum has a 15+ page thread about the bugs.

So I am not too confident about the quality of Awakening, and will wait until Steam has it on sale.

I liked DA a lot but will wait awhile before buying Awakening, hopefully price will drop to go with a patch or two by the time I buy it :).

Bioware did NWN1, Obsidian did NWN2. MOTB was done by Obsidian for NWN2, Bioware had nothing to do with it.

I TOLD all you guys a while back that they'd eventually have a super platinum diamond titanium awesome mega edition someday, with all the little downloadable junk and all the official expansions all in one big package. Not to mention they'd probably have all the bugs worked out by that time anyway. THATS when you buy it.
They did the exact same thing for Neverwinter Nights and its sequel. Just wait, its coming eventually.

So, I didn't realize how much gear I used that didn't transfer over. I had to load up a epilogue save from my old game and do some major gear transferring. Once I left everyone basically naked in camp I was ready to go. So far it's good. I didn't get very far in however before bedtime.

I just wonder if there will be more DLC for dragon age, or only for awakenings.

NPC: "Hey, what are you doing?! I need that!"
PC: "Were done here in Ferelden, I'm selling everyones stuff so I have some money when I get to Orlais."
NPC: "But, that is my family sword and armor! They are dear to me!"
PC: "Sorry. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!"
Sandal: "ENCHANTMENT?"
