Dragon Age: Awakening Silverite Mine Bug

On the off chance that someone reads this that hasn't played through it yet, watch out. Make a manual save before entering the mines. I lost all of my main character's gear (imported from DA:O) to a bug. A quick google search turned up hundreds of threads on Bioware's own forum, going back about 8 months. Sad that they haven't fixed it.

I bought all the DLC, but the thought of having to play Awakenings over from the beginning just kind of kills it for me. I think I'm done with Dragon Age. 🙁

Yeah, I learned that one the hard way too. It doesn't happen 100% of the time though for some reason. I always hard save before entering the mines now.

That bug got me in my first Awakening playthrough, I had to restart entirely since my only saved game I had was a re-write I had made after the bug occurred, and the auto save was after the bug as well. In my second playthrough I kept a saved game prior to entering the mines, and another save once I entered it, but that second save wasn't bugged for some reasons, so it's indeed not always happening, but it's very frustrating if it does.

Happened to me also on my playthrough. Glad I had saved at the right time so I could go back and through again.

I'm just playing through Awakenings for the first time now despite being a huge Origins fan. Thanks a bunch for this tip, I'll make a manual save right now to prepare against this.

On a side note, why on earth is Awakenings so much easier than Origins? I play both on Nightmare and it's no contest - Origins has some nice, tough battles on Nightmare although I'd prefer an even higher difficulty level still (not bragging...etc.). But Awakenings on Nightmare feels like I'm playing on Easy mode, maybe it's bugged??? I don't get it, I don't even take damage in most of the minor battles and the enemy swarms seem smaller than I'm used to in Origins. I can cut through Alpha Hurlocks like butter in Awakenings, which is fine I guess since I am the "Warden Commander" afterall but Origins was never this easy at any point of the campaign.

Have not played yet. Been told repeatedly to make multiple hard saves all over the damn place.
Still waiting for a super platinum collectors edition.
