Like others, I've played nearly every Bioware game from start to finish. I bought DA2 near release and plowed my way through the entire game. I don't think it's as bad as every is making it out to be. It's obvious they WAY over-consolized it. I think they would have done better calling this Dragon Age Adventures: Hawks Journey, or somesuch...
As the mechanics have been dumbed down so much, and the game made so much easier, it's misleading to call this a sequal. DA was great and it sold well. WTF are you changing so much?
I can understand the changes to ME2. The inventory system was crap, so they did away with it. It left you a LOT more time to play the game, rather than fussing with weapons and armor that might be 1% better. However, leaving out armor of your party in DA 2 is unforgivable in a fantasy RPG. Changing armor in games generally isn't time intensive and it personalized you to your team.
I used to be aggrivated byt he dumbing down of all games, but as I've grown older and have kids, I don' t have the time to invest in punishing games anymore. I can deal with this. Although, I think I can count on one hand how many times I died in DA2 on the standard difficulty.
Overall, I'd give it an 80%. Again, think of it more as a "Worlds of Dragon Age" game rather than a direct seqal. And let's hope they do learn from this.
