drag for Custom Title

Crusty

Lifer
I know this has been posted before.

I sent the Mod's a PM about it a month or so ago, and they told me they would open a topic for it in the "bat cave", and I haven't heard anything else about it yet.

For those of you who do not venture into the OS forum, he is by far the most knowledgable person about Linux in the forum, he writes a freaking book whenever someone asks a simple question. He is EXTREMELY helpful, and deserves a custom title.

drag not being elite has been a glaring omission for a while.
"Elite" is a clique, not a title for truly helpful & informative posters. I've found elite members to be far more likely to troll, be immature, display startling lack of intelligence, spew religious dogma & intolerance, proselytize, resort to namecalling and of course come to each others defense when one is called on these things.

Note that I'm only commenting on a trend here; there are some notable exceptions, such as mechBgon and John, who truly deserve what the title was originally meant to be.

My thoughts exactly.

Sounds like a good description of yourself.

Never said he didn't. If you'll scroll back up and read my post, you'll notice I quoted someone. My post was in answer to that.

And I know quite a few Elite members that are very knowledgeable and helpful..

I would actually think more Lifers are likely to troll, be immature, display startling lack of intelligence, proselytize, resort to namecalling and of course come to " " " " " than elite members..

Up for drag! Always very helpful.

That's because there are more lifers. Proportionally, no one group of posters has as many members displaying the aforementioned traits as AT's elite members.

At any rate, we're going off topic here; I said what I said as an explanation to why drag still isn't elite. And yes, he does deserve to be recognized for his service to fellow ATers, though whether receiving the elite title is a good thing or not, due to what so many elite members have turned it into, is up in the air.
