I asked a similar question already when the Donanimhaber slides with Zambezi performance appeared. There was a similar statement. But it looks like they only consider DT systems or - as the ad banners and box texts for those FX CPUs suggest - they simply mean the "world's first and only unlocked 8-core CPU":The world has never had an 8-core processor before?
I was planning a new pc around June so I will wait and see what they have to offer first. As much shit as i talk on BD i think i'll be buying an 8 Core
Yay! Box art.
And how long have we been hearing about Bulldozer now? Almost 1.5 years now? Guess the box art is something to get excited about.....
The world has never had an 8-core processor before?
Anybody noticed that the chips look like lpga sockets ? (isn't that like Intel is using)
Is AM3+ or whatever socket bulldozer on, going to be lpga type ?
They look like box art for juice boxes...
Looks like an Opteron chip for C32 socket.
AM3+ is PGA and the first boards are out, from Gigabyte, 6 boards in total, AM3+ black socket with SB850/SATA 3.0/USB 3.0
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/list.aspx?s=42&jid=10&p=2&v=2
I don't see any AM3+ sockets on that page, or SB850
Maybe I'm just jaded but it looks like a real Photoshop fake to me. LPGA socket, no FX-8XXX nomenclature, tiny AMD logos, very little text on the side... I think that maybe just maybe we're being had here.![]()
