Yay! Box art.

And how long have we been hearing about Bulldozer now? Almost 1.5 years now? Guess the box art is something to get excited about.....

I think it's closer to 3+ years since the public first heard of it. Remember it was first scheduled to be released in 2009.

The world has never had an 8-core processor before?

First 8-core for the mainstream on a non-server class board. For layman users, "world's first 8 core processor" isn't really false advertising (in the context of them buying it for their home PC) and for nerds like us we all know the truth.

It looks like AMD finally learned something about marketing. I like the boxes. That said, I would buy an OEM Bulldozer, personally. :)

Anybody noticed that the chips look like lpga sockets ? (isn't that like Intel is using)

Is AM3+ or whatever socket bulldozer on, going to be lpga type ?

From what I know AMD can do HT too, or is hyperthreading only for Intel ...if bulldozer does do HT then thats 16 logical cores for your video editing or audio editing software...

Maybe I'm just jaded but it looks like a real Photoshop fake to me. LPGA socket, no FX-8XXX nomenclature, tiny AMD logos, very little text on the side... I think that maybe just maybe we're being had here. :)

These are from an informal survey AMD had regarding new packaging. It's in no official that the final retail box would look anything like this, but since most of the reaction on different forums has been positive it wouldn't surprise me.
