Dr Martens question...

Ok peeps. I need to know how Dr Martens low cut shoes fit. Wondering if they are wide for their size and long for a size.

I wear a 12 in most boots, but i cant find a decent place to get some docs... so i am going to zappos. Help me out.... Thanks!

How about...try them on at a store, then order online?

Edit: You mean you can't find any local stores carrying Doc Martens? Where do you live?

From what I remember they fit almost spot on. My feet aren't wide nor narrow and their sizing was appropriate. Kick-a*s shoes though, 'specially on the ice!

They are large for their size.
I usually fit into a 10.5-11 and I have a low cut pair of docs in a 9.5, with mabey a tiny bit of room to spare.

I'm not sure if this has changed in recent years.

Just to give you a heads up, I've never bought a pair of Dr. Martens but have always bought the Sketchers that look EXACTLY like them. They have the exact same bottom design, EXACT SAME, and everyone I know believed they were Docs.

However, you tell me what is better...$120+ for shoes or $35.99 for some Sketchers? Plus I thought they had more sole coushion than the ones I tried on in the store and they lasted me almost 4 years before I just got another pair a couple months ago!!

Surely you must have a mall with a Journeys?
You NEED to try them on. I tried them once and they were the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever put on my foot. The size I wear was way too small and the next size up was way too big

They sell them at Buckle. Not sure if your mall has one of those...

From my experience. I wear a size 14 mens. I found Docs to be a little larger than most other shoes I wear. I usually get a 13 in Docs and stretch them out, if needed.

I've always gone with the conversion chart and bought 1 size higher. I find Docs to be a bit small, and I'd much rather my shoes be too big than too small.

i have wide feet and it has always been difficult to find shoes that fit. i also wore docs for about 15 years of my life if that tells you anything.

doc's are great. i've had mine for over 6 years and they're still in good shape. you gotta get used to them and they arent compfy right away.

I have a journeys, but they didnt have any. I also went into buckle and they didnt have any. Kinda pissed me off too because i wanted some so bad. I have had skechers... and i liked them. I just wanted to see if there was much difference than docs... like i said i have never had any.

I work 12 hour shifts on my feet mostly... so i need good shoes. I heard they are really comfy and i just wanted to see for myself. Thanks guys. Great info...

dont these shoes have a lifetime guarentee too or something crazy like that?

no, no lifetime guarantee, they usually last a (~2yrs)long time before the soles start to crack. They are not really that comfortable, if you are looking for a comfy pr of shoes, check out Born shoes.

different strokes for different folks, I guess, but my doc martens are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I've worn them about 5-6 days/week for the past year and a half and they're stil in great condition.

I think they are extremely comfortable. I've been wearing mine 5-6 days a week for about 6 years now, soles still in great condition.

They will last forever and are good boots if you are moving around. I worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and wore some Doc steel toes and they were great. However if you are going to be standing in one spot, they are not too comfy: walking = good, standing = bad.
