Friends, I'm starting to feel like I'm the only person out there who has this problem. I am slightly more forceful than I should be when it comes to typing on the keyboard, brushing my teeth, painting the house, and yes, even tying my shoelaces. This problem seems to catch up with me when I wear boots in that I pull my shoestrings so hard that they rub against the metal eyelets and wear out in a matter of weeks/months (instead of years as most people's laces seem to).

So, here is my problem. I have a pair of Dr. Martens makes Air Wair (a great traditional look that cost me a good $150). And surprise-surprise, my laces on them have snapped. I cant seem to find a good replacement for them. The place that I've bought laces from in the past does not carry this brand. Dr. Martens own site for buying laces is garbage. Any ideas where to go?

Much appreciate the help in advance.

Laces are laces. You find the length you need and there you go. If you go through them that frequently, it doesn't matter if they're cotton, polyester, plastic or, leather and, they sure as hell don't need the doc marten brand.

If you can find it in a color that will work with your current shoes, you could use paracord to make laces. They should be pretty durable and considering you can get 100 ft of most colors of paracord for $6-$8, you would have lots left to use for more laces.

Thanks for the feedback, friends. So here is how this went down. The Lock laces were not the right laces, and they would have come out costing about $15 with shipping (too rich for my blood for the wrong laces).

After posting here I pinged TheRightLace (a place I had bough shoelaces from in the past) about the problem. A couple of days later they let me know that they had special ordered the laces, so I thought I would give them a try. The laces came in on Friday and they are perfect. I paid $11 (including shipping) and the laces are exactly the right color, length, and thickness.

Here is the link they sent me for their Dr. Martens page: Dr. Martens Airwair Laces

Looking back at your posts, it's almost like you are advertising for that place...
