In his letter to Mr. Shapiro, he wondered why the network wasn?t reporting stories of progress in Iraq, a frequently heard complaint of the Bush administration. "As you know, I have regularly pitched most of these stories contained in the note to Nightly, Today and directly to you," he wrote. "Every single story has been rejected." . . .

A number of high-ranking military officials contacted by NYTV complimented Dr. Arnot?s superior reporting skills, especially in light of what they perceived as the chronically negative war reporting on TV in the United States. Larry DiRita, the Pentagon spokesman for Donald Rumsfeld, said that Dr. Arnot captured Iraq as he experienced it when he visited there himself. "It was complex and nuanced and uneven then, and you had to get around to see it that way?and he does," Mr. DiRita said. "I think his coverage provided an aspect of daily Iraqi life that is being missed by a heck of a lot of coverage."

Maj. Clark Taylor e-mailed NYTV from Baghdad to state that Dr. Arnot "highlighted what is really happening over here ?. He generally reported positive things because, generally, that is what is happening. Of course there are occasional bad things ? and he reported those as well. The fact was, he reported what he saw?which generally was positive."

Well, you expect this sort of thing from the French, but here in the Good Ol' US of A? Say it isn't so!

Must be all that 'tolerance' and 'fairness' to which liberals dedicate hours and hours of lip-flapping.

like about how iraqi's now have more medical care, electricity, food, and running water than they did under saddam and un economic sanctions? yes. these are all totally unimportant and not worth reporting, only stories that try to paint iraq out to be as bad as possible, brought to us by NBC, CBS and CNN who all in thier ignorance tried to make one of the fatsest fighting advances in history look like we were losing.

why should liberals let bothersome things like facts get in the way?

Don't be too harsh on the French considering the USA probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for their help in the Revolutionary war...

Didn't you say something about ignoring the facts?

It's interesting how conservatives complain about CNN, NBC, etc. yet never seem to acknowledge the fact Fox News is the most biased news source out there. I'd agree CNN, NBC, etc. are biased but what can you do about it? Dislike the bias? Don't watch it. Arguing over the bias in news is pointless considering how many sources we can get news from today.

Also, how do you know the didn't run the stories because they were leaning left?

Yes, it's good the Iraqi peple have electricity, running water, etc. Who is denying that? Seems you easily ignored the fact your president lied to you :\

what makes fox biased? because they do not say things you agree with? ;)

i see no proof bush lied, i see evidence he did not minimalized. sounds like your making excuses for your propaganda outlets. also read my post, i did not say anyone is "denying" great progress is being made in iraq. much has been done to repair the damage done by economic sanctions that the dems seem so in love with. and the last thing the UN and it's supporters wants is evidence that this policy was a failure for over a decade viewed daily by the public...it might make them look bad.

BTW can you explain to me how trying everything to make the fastest military advances in history look like a loss is in any way "objective"?

I don't think anyone is speaking of a loss or victory. The war is not yet over.

Well, it could always be worse, Dr. Bob. You could be in France, where you get to choose from a broad range of views among the French press; A Smidgen to the Left, Pop Fly in Left Field, and Explorer Has Left the Earth's Gravitational Field.

She said, ?Yes she will, she is the future of Iraq.? She also survived because a US Army sergeant took the ticking grenade from her hand and turned away from her. The girl survived because of his heroism. At my request, the Army sent a Blackhawk helicopter to evacuate a four and a half year old girl with 55 percent burns ? under fire ? and protected by two Apache gunships. These stories never made air on NBC.

That says it all!

Sounds like a lame reporter who likes to whine a lot when the spotlight isn't shining on him.

Now he's getting attention all over the place.

Imagine that.

Sorry wkabel, but you don't have a clue what you are talking about....it is a known fact that around the time of the Vietnam war all media for the most part went from being highly conservative and pro nation to being very liberal in their reporting, take any basic politics and the media class and you will learn this....sure conservatives complain about the highly liberal slope of CNN, NBC, ABC and all the others because for the past 30 years we have been fed this liberal agenda with no alternative or no truly objective options...Fox just enters the fold and is the only media outlet that has a more conservative slant (actually Fox news was created because prez of Fox was so tired of the highly liberal media spewing their drivel and customers not having any alternative) and the libs are so quick to jump on it because they are annoyed that anyone be given the choice to watch something other than programming slanted towards their beliefs.....

You say "Dislike the bias, don't watch it"....sure that is fine now that there is ONE alternative, however for three decades there was NO alternative....

you also say:

"Also, how do you know the didn't run the stories because they were leaning left?"

Fox runs many centrist stories but avoids those which are blatantly biased towards the left sure, but the other 99.99999999999% of media jumps on those heavly left stories and doesn't even consider anything that could be considered pro conservative....if anything in this case I think those who are more conservative have a right to complain as they have been deprived of a credible news alternative...now that they have something which is marginally decent the libs have to complain about bias...talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Why should Americans care about Iraq having Universal Health Care when the bastards are doing their damn best to kill American Soldiers. The only feel good story I want to hear about Iraq is the body count of our enemies there!
