benton asked romano to reduce his hours to mon-fri, 7-5, weekends off. romano couldn't get that so benton quit. he'll be working with cleo at the surgical group.

and he got to keep reese

Damned good episode, even though it's my birthday I made sure I was in front of the boob toob at 10PM.

I got addicted to ER about 2 years ago, at first I hated Benton and Romano but they grow on you after a while.

Now there's only two strong anchor characters left Greene and Carter

just watched it here on the west coast, pretty decent ending, nothing too sobbing, even when Carter showed up...Romano and Benton kept their fire til the end

Pyxis: in order to show he was dedicated to time with his son, Benton told the judge he had cut his hours down to weekdays, 7-5pm, no weekends. when the judge asked for proof, Benton went to Romano asking for the time reduction. Romano conceded no weekends, but wanted Benton to do nights occasionally (implied, not explicit). Benton then resigned and went to his girlfriend's, Cleo, private practice and aggressively got a 8-5pm job, weekdays only. He took the letter off to the judge and eventually he's granted custody of his son, Reese, with limited visitation rights by the stepfather, Roger, biweekly. Benton quit County General that week, his last shift being the night shift on Christmas Eve.

you know what would be kinda nice *geek alert* if they brought on Gaddes Mcfadden, Alexander Siddig (his entire name happens to be, Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig El Abderahman El Mohammed Ahmed El Abdel Karim El Mahdi.... no joke) or Robert Picardo to take the role of doctor...
