New symptom -- pain on the upper RIGHT side of my chest that occurs when I take a deep breath. Same sort of pain as I feel below, but only when I take a breath.

do you have shortness of breath? do you ever get nauseous or dizzy? does it hurt when you bear down like you're taking a dump? have you had any kind of traumas lately (sports hit, rough-housing, fight, etc.)? does it hurt when you lift anything heavy? if someone touches your belly, does it hurt or do you recoil immediately? any fever or chills? is your skin yellowish?

if you say yes to any of these, you probably want to go to the er... you could have anything from a hernia to appendicitis to an intestinal blockage... it's best to get checked out by a medical professional who does this stuff day in and day out.

you don't want to really waste time if you can catch it early...

normally, i don't advise people to go to the er if it doesn't seem like it could potentially be something very dangerous. this is one of the times where i would recommend going (if you said yes to any of the questions i posted above).

Any other symptoms? Any fevers, chills, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness or lightheadedness? Changes in your urine or bowel habits?

Does it hurt to push on your abdomen? Does it hurt worse if you push and then let go quickly?

Basically what I'm getting at is that you could have something serious or it could be something minor....really hard to tell without a decent number of questions and a good physical exam (followed by a large laboratory and imaging workup if indicated).

My recommendation: Go to an ER ASAP, especially if you are feeling any of the symptoms in the first set above.

In fact, I'm on call RIGHT NOW, so I'd be happy to see you at my hospital.

MD.

haha that's pretty much the same post i made...

meh, it doesn't sound life threatening... i think you should make an appointment in the morning.

sounds like it could be hepatitis or maybe a gallstone... the pain on your right upper chest could be referred pain (pain your body perceives away from the spot of the origin due to how certain pain nerve fibers running up to your brain interact with other nerves on the way).

what's your lifestyle like? diet? what's your pulse/minute, breaths/minute, and temp?

Pulse is about 65-70, breaths normal, temp not sure, but seems normal. I'll go to the doc in the morning.

I wish I were 100% healthy again. About 2 months ago I called 911 coz I had a temp of 95 and felt like I was going to pass out. All the tests came back normal. Bleh...

that sounds like it's stress-related. try taking some vitamin b complex (get naturemade... brand name matters). have you ever tried taichi or yoga or anything to release some stress? masturbation doesn't count.

my guess is constipation or gallstones based on what you've said. considering it's been going on for 2-3 days and you're not sick, i highly doubt it is appendicitis. if you're otherwise feeling fine i'd try taking some fiber and drinking some fluids. avoid laxatives. if symptoms are persistent then make an appointment to see a primary care physician and make a good mental note of your symptoms, when they occur, and what may be triggering them. (e.g. sharp pain from gallstones occur shortly after a meal). if you start feeling sick then go to the ER.

First you should seek help from a real doctor, not an internet chat forum. That being said....

Whats your urine look like? is it more brown than yellow? Could be a kidney stone or something. If brownish, drink as much Cranberry juice cocktail as you can and once you start to pass it thru your system, you should start felling a bit better. You'll need to drink at least 2-quarts for a couple of days.

Then of course the bigday will hopefully come when you pass it and instatly feel better, after a few moments of shear agony... :p
