Well half a minute ago [TA]crispy2010 had 7 154 585.1 Mpts ...

I think this inconsistence has to do with the moving of the site to a new web-host. Should be better in a few days ;) since it takes that sometimes to update the DNS-tables.

Hmm, this changes fast - now the stats are down for me too - no negative numbers, but I have lost quite a few Mpts....
Yesterday: Score: 4 468 716.7, now: 4 389 714.7, difference: 79 002.0 Mpts.
The scripts calculating the stats must be out of whack, probably because Stephen has not finished the move to the new site - I hope ;)

I'll better save a screen shot of my latest stats from Free-DC ... :D

Happened to me over a year ago. All of a sudden I lost some 120,000 points - they never came back :(

Back then I thought it was some oversensitive cheating tool, but I never asked Stephen about it.

Yeah, Free-DC (as well as other stats sites) work with downloadad XML-files if those are inaccurate the the stats will be all over the place. I saved the last good screen ... :)

Bird Flu?

From Stephen:

Er yes, forums. I've moved webhost and managed to retrieve their forum database but of course I now have no software to view it with, so this forum is currently "Under Kunstrkson"

I'll second that question.

Mine is 32 meg.

Is it safe to prune the top half? Or more?

It is save to prune the top half. Just be sure to prune at the "right point" using Wordpad or Notepad or another ASCII compatible editor. The "right point" is the line below the Results lines.

915;s6r=893;s7f=897;s7l=903;s7r=926;s8f=884;s8l=916;s8r=896;s9f=894;s9l=906;s9r=978;#gen=3;#runs=5;
1.488241 (2536.8 Mpts) [v4.42c] {70E4CF7294A397278763E997} <ChicaneLinacB>
#gen=0;tantalumrodz=029;tantalumrodr=985;s1l=366;s1f=304;d1l=309;s2l=033;s2r=160;s2f=508;d2l=545;s3l=

as above, the #gen=0.... is the correct line to be at the top of the new, edited results.dat

IIRC The entire 'results.dat' file stays in RAM. You can literally delete the 'restuls.dat' file. This will greatly reduce RAM usage. The only thing is that your results build upon itself. So you will be starting over in a sense. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Anyway, on two boxes with only 512 RAM, I deleted the 'results.dat' file. Worked fine for me.
