Dpad, latice list

This is getting really annoying, for some reason my computers will not download laticelist updates. So they just sit there all day doing nothing. Its not a firewall, I send results with no problem. Why wont the laticelist update?

In the config.txt file there is a line like this:

Update lattice files from web every N hours (0=don't):

I'm not sure what the recommended hours are but make sure it is not: 0

But, I have mine set to 0 and it crunches OK 😕

EDIT: this is more of a bump until the experts see it.

I've seen this happen with old clients that don't support the latest lattices/simulation types. Are you running the latest client?

Yea all checks out, I have the latest client. I just set to 0. It fixed the problem, just annoying to think my machines are just wasting time.

Your machines are not wasting time. They will just go off on their own as it were. If they are 'crunching' then they are contributing to the project. The results they turn in may be the new best way 🙂 It is not always a bad thing not to follow the pack. Take the life of a lemming for example 🙂

Thats the problem, they are not crunching. They crunching for 12 hours and just stop on the "trying to dload latice list" crap. As I said wasting time! Not any more cause I turned the update latice list off!😀 Thanx Gleem!

@someone who knows

1. I don't have a file called "latticelist.txt", how important is this file?

2. Are the lattice files that get downloaded on all of the servers in the servers.csv file? Or only one server?
Maybe that server was down for a while and caused crispy's problem?
