DPAD Guys... Are you getting re-checks?

Hey - thanks for the help guys! 😀 We're going to pass ARS in 12 days (or so)

Be looking for my upcoming micro-mega-dump. I'll probably unleash it tomorrow.

Here's my question:

I noticed in the latest version... actually -- since I've been running solenoids to 15cm, I'm not seeing a re-check when I hit a "best-so-far" transfer.

I used to get quite a few Mpts. from my rechecks. I'm just running the plain-jane up and down "optimized/extrapolate/random" sequence. It should (according to my config.txt file) be generating 5 re-checks on new "best-so-far" transfers. Mine isn't. 🙁

Anyone else noticing that?

Heh, what is re-check? recently I ran DPAD, and even it has generated results.txt file, but I don't know when it will send results back to server?! How to check if it sent them back? Or, when it will send it and how I will know it does it?

LAST UPDATE: Just running manualsend.bat. Hope it will send some results... When the stats will refresh? Could anyone see if there will be [TA]D347h ?

Recheck is when the client runs a simulation 5 times to verify its accuracy. It's supposed to happen when you do a "best so far" simulation. Right now that would be any simulation which exceeds the best transfer rate that you presently have in your results.dat file. You won't get them if you're continually updating the results.dat with the latest high scores. (and don't exceed them)

My question was driven by the fact that I HAVE exceeded the high score, but didn't get the re-check.
A re-check is good, because all your rechecked simulations will carry a higher point value than just one result, and then a random... etc.

Welcome aboard btw... you are showing up now on the stats pages. 😀

Go guys🙂

I'm itching to switch at least 1 rig to DPAD but I can't until S@H1 ends😉
For now I'll pop into DPAD threads from time to time😱

Btw Dan ,can you not get Russ to run it?
Seeing as he's killing his SETIQ soon I assume any SETI clients left will be killed too?

Still, it's too complicated for me :/ I have some questions:
1. How to do 'b-s-f' simulation ?
2. What means 'exceeded' ?
3. How to do that ^ ?
4. Is client sending results auto, or do I need to run manualsend.bat ?
5. If auto, when ?
6. How often are stats refreshed ?

And thx for welcome.. Will stay for some time with DPAD, cos it's running in background and don't disturb any other users of this machine /It's my rig, bus as we have only one comp @ home, my mum use it as well. but it's in my, not her, room 😛/!

Oh, I see that only Dan and I return results today... However, he returned 8 times more than me :/ OK, must to go now !

Russ is responsible for about 10 Ghz of my production. 😉
If I'd have been thinking -- I'd have made it TACube.
He sends his regards. 🙂

D347h,

Still, it's too complicated for me :/ I have some questions:
1. How to do 'b-s-f' simulation ? It does it by itself. No need to intervene.

2. What means 'exceeded' ? Just that it surpassed the best transfer on record in your database (results.dat)

3. How to do that ^ ? The client "learns" -- and will eventually do a transfer that is way above the best you have in your file. Again... this is just what it does. There's no extra effort for you to do.

4. Is client sending results auto, or do I need to run manualsend.bat ? The client will flush at 100K file size (results.txt) automatically. You may choose to flush manually at any time.

5. If auto, when ? See answer above

6. How often are stats refreshed ? usually hourly - about 15 minutes past the hour

It's really very simple to run. I got into some more complex issues because I prefer to optimize my results often, and am pretty serious about moving up. 😉 Hope that helps! 🙂

DanC, you can flush maunal when you have over 10000bytes result.txt, not when you want !!

Heh, 10 results send...

Yes... you are absolutely correct.

A minor detail I forgot to mention. 😉

Sometimes when you have multiple machines, it's nice to set the config to manual - but that's up to each individual as to how you like to do it.

Now - let's asslaminate and recruit! We need MORE POWER! 😀

Minor ?! After about 2 days of work I get 10 Kb file and he said it's minor !!

Anyway, i have another question, about auto-save.
When I run background version, it creates auto.sav, when CMD Line - autocli.sav.
My question is:
If I switch over versions [from bckgrd to cmdline], what should I do with auto-save file?
Should I do:
A) Nothing. Because:
- These SAV's are diffrent.
- Formats of SAV's are diffrent.
- They both crunching diffrent WU's, so I won't get my work doubled.
B) Rename auto.sav to autocli.sav.

Please, help me - I sometimes want to see these numbers changing.. CLI rocks !

Answer: A. Nothing. - or... just let it finish that work unit.
That's all the .sav file is -- just a record of a simulation in progress.
Once the simulation is done, the work unit becomes part of results.txt, and the
.sav file goes away. 🙂

OK DaN, but I really want to switch over BCKGRND to CMDLN version, what to do? Do not touch SAV file?

Hey, are we going to pass ARS ? LoL, DanC, you should post stats daily here!

Hey guys, just got recheck.. It was long, it generated quene.txt file and run it 5 times.. but it ended.. Whoa, it's kinda new for me... But cool anyway 😀

And for stats I meant posting them on forum, I have already seen that site...

I have a quick question. I cna't get muon monitor to go into full mode. I've tried it with the cmd client already running and I tried to have muon monitor autostart the client for me but neither way seems to work. Its been awhile since I've run dpad so any help would be great.

What is muonmonitor? Never heard about fancy like that... I'm running only officail Muon client and it enough for me...
Try adding shourtcut to Muon in your Autostart directory...

SlangNRox, I noticed you'd done some dumping... welcome back! 😀

MuonMonitor is a tool I primarily just use to work with the results.dat file. I don't try to control the client with it or anything.

Best way I've found is just to invoke from winddoze startup. Background mode is usually best.

You can get muonmonitor here.

I wanted to see how my new computer performs on dpad. It seems like the p4 is fast or at least it is compared to my old p3
