think i might have some DPAD stability issues - my clock went up but my stats went down

You need to do a 24hr OCCT test run.
Although DPAD is a rather sporadic flushing client anyway.

well 6 hours of OCCT and I'm fine so far ... but I did change a setting or 2 regarding GTL and voltages

I've had it fail at 18hrs , hope you get to 24hrs :thumbsup:
