Btw a question, I know what SETI & F@H do when they crash due to an unstable o/c or failing h/w, but does anyone know what DPAD does in these situations?

I might do some more stats tomorrow, but don't hold your breathe 😉.

Btw I guess you don't know the answer to my question?

Sorry, no. I don't. The DPAD-program did shut down some times (but thet was on a "celery") when I improved ventilation, the probelm disappeared. It was a benign crash: only the sign: "This program was shut down due to an error - do you want to send a report to Microsoft?" No BSOD, no nothing ... but the CPU was not OC'ed.

Hmm,ok thanks :thumbsup:

I just spotted that it's nefariouscaines birthday today so :-

Happy Birthday nefariouscaine! 🙂 :beer::wine:

Thanks m8 - spent most of the weekend running around like a bit of a mad man - now i'm paying the price and in need of moar sleep

I just kicked the e8600 back up to 4.2ghz again as its been bloody cold but I did have to turn the rams back down to CAS5 vs the 4-5-4-15 i'd been running it at - didn't seem to be fully stable when installing vista x64 ultimate the other day ...

crazy thing i swear i sent in 20 results when i got home today and then sent again just now and it had 30 done already ????

epic fsb boost FTW?

i dunno lol

Err, have you stabilty tested it before running DPAD?

I don't know if it's possible with DPAD but with SETI classic if you had an unstable overclock it could spew out a load of WUs which had been terminated early.
You don't wanta risk sending out a load of duff results! 😉 (& possibley get no credit too).
Specially when you're running DC you need to do a 24hr test to be sure it's stable, OCCT is a good tester.

me thinks I'll need to double check on that - I ran a few instances of super pi 32mb on the cas4 settings and have it turned back to cas5 right now

I'm gonna do some more settings adjustment and testing this weekend or when ever i have the time
