Sweet! :) I was just talking to someone the other day who wondered if there was anything like this available now I can tell him there will be soon.

Seems to be a few problems when you read deeper into the review. Won't play DivX 3.x, and it doesn't support some of the DivX 5.x features which results in some "image jumping" in complex scenes.

Still a VERY cool player and hopefully a sign of things to come.

No component output?

That sucks, it won't be replacing my Panasonic any time soon.

I might consider it as an addition though, I have plenty of free s-video inputs...

Yeah no component, ouch. A few kinks but kudos for this company for starting the trend. This thing will probably be hard to find and sell like hotcakes...then other companies will jump on the bandwagon. I want a panasonic w/ divx support :)

Pretty cool. I ended up just building a separate computer with a Radeon w/s-video out and put it into the cabinet of our armoire (and cut an airhole out the back) so I could watch my DIVX collection on our main TV and listen to MP3s over the network on my stereo. Added a cordless mouse to act as a remote and the whole thing works like a charm.

It does suck that it currently doesn't support some of the more advanced features of Divx 5 like quarter pel and GMC as those can make a very nice difference on the smoothness of the image quality in highly complex panning scenes. Also the fact that it looks like it only has one CD tray is kind of a drawback for some films as longer movies or movies with a lot of action will have noticeably weaker image quality than their DVD counterpart if you try to squeeze them onto only one CD. Granted, DVD-Rs are coming down in price a lot now, but it looks like they're still about a year away from becoming mainstream.

Looking at it again, & looking at the manufacturer's page it appears the player is progressive scan. That would require component output, so perhaps the US version will have component instead of the SCART connector?
