First, let me say that these sort of "best of" lists are mainly horse manure, click bait trash . . . except, of course, when I agree with them.

Anyway, Doylestown ain't bad at all. However, nearby New Hope has jumped the shark, imho. It's a New Jersey tourist magnet these days. But right across the bridge is Lambertville, NJ, which is the real deal, full of actual working artists and still existing "dive bars" and such . . . kind of what New Hope was some several decades ago.

The area around New Hope looks nice. I didn't even realize that their was a Washington Crossing park, where Washington crossed the Delaware.

Yeah, this area is rich in history and artistry, too. And, despite ever encroaching development, going on the back roads can take you back and immerse you in natural beauty.

My buddy and I used to drink at the bars in Doylestown. It was nearby and a fun drive.

If you're that close the river (and Jersey border) how are you NOT overrun with NJ riffraff? That's where everyone moved once insurance rates began to skyrocket. Oh, and property taxes.

Even my MD shrink has a second house in the Poconos where, apparently, it's like 20F degrees cooler in the summer. It's not even noon here and over the past half hour I've seen temps go from 84 to 90.

It's very rural , nothing like the densely populated Northern N.J area.
