I just installed Windows on a brand new computer:
AOpen i915Gm-PL Motherboard
P4 2.66 ghz processor
2 gigs mushkin RAM
eVGA 7800GT Video card
I'm also on a network, through a Linksys BEFSR81 router.
For some unkown reason, downloads stall in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. This often happens on larger files that don't download near instantly.
It's only downloads that are stalling, normal internet traffic and games flow fine. I've tried from several sites and it happens everywhere. None of the other computers on our home network have this problem.
Can anyone lend a hand?
Edit: Hmm...it would also seem my download rates are significantly less than the other machines on my network. The one right next to me is getting 230ish on a file, while I'm stuck at 150 on the same file from the same server.
Edit 2: Ok, so other computers on the network are stalling too...
Edit 3: Unplugged router, put cable connection direct to my PC...still having trouble. Calling my ISP..
