Downloading to another computer

A while back I had heard how it was possible to download files and such from another computer. I believe it had something to do with "FXP" or something. Actually my brother just got cable access, and what I want is a proggy that will allow me to use his bandwidth to download stuff on his computer from my computer. Some sort of remote program I would think. TIA for any help.
 
You are thinking of FTP, and it is probably too complicated for you to setup with no knowledge of it since it is a server, not just some program. I would reccomend doing the transfers through Instant Messenger or ICQ, it is easy and just as fast.
 
It is NOT FTP, I know how to set up an FTP server ( I didn't just sneak across the Rio Grande last night)! It had something to do with a remote access program and FXP. WHY would you assume it was too complicated for little 'ole me?
 
Now that I think about it, the article was about how kids in college where getting stuff off of napster even after their school blocked it. If I can remember correctly they would have a friend, who's school didn't block napster, set up a program that allowed them to access napster from their computer. Then they would transfer the files though FXP. I just need to be able to download as I only have a 56gay, and then just go pick the stuff up. The time I spend downloading every night would be drasticly reduced.
 
you cant use FXP through napster.

FXP is for sending files between two FTP servers. provided that they are both setup to allow this.

once you have a server setup on your brothers computer, get FlashFXP. now with FlashFXP, connect one side of it to your brothers server, and the other side to whatever FTP you want to get stuff from, then simply drag the files from the other server to your brothers.
