Downloading over Satellite

Last night I kept trying to download Windows Onecare at my girlfriends house but every time it came up to the point where it was doing a system check it would go for about 2 minutes then come up to a page cannot be displayed screen.

I'm assuming this is because it is timing out, not positive though.... If this is the case how can change the timeout settings for Internet Explorer?

If it sounds like some other issue please let me know.
