Downloading Google Data Archives with IE?

Anyone had any luck with this? Google created a two part archive (due to size) that is something like 4MB and 5.25GB, respectively. When I go do download the first of these in IE, it sends it into some kind of infinite refresh loop with the url changing constantly, and nothing downloading as far as I can tell (no option to right-click, Save As...).

Finally had to close IE to get it to stop, and when I go back it claims that one has been downloaded, but it hasn't. Don't really want to install another browser just to download the archive.

Thoughts?

It's an archive of your google account(s). You can select one or more of gmail, picasa, calendar, contacts, etc. to be included in the archive and download it as a zip file.

Ahh! This might be a shot in the dark, but my sister was trying to download something in IE once and nothing was happening, and it turned out that there was a tiny message on top saying "Internet Explorer blocked a pop-up" and you had to click on it and select "Allow" before it would download.

Apparently you only have 5 tries before the archive expires though. :awe:

Yup, likely some kind of security setting on my desktop. Worked just fine on my laptop. Thanks!
