Downloaded SuSe 7.0 from suse.com. Can I create a bootable CD-ROM now?

Can I just burn those files (it's not one ISO file, just loads of small and smaller files) on a CD-ROM and install SuSe from it, i.e. is it bootable then?

Thanks for your help.

If you downloaded the ISO, then simply burning the ISO would make the disc bootable, but this time, all you do is use a program like Nero, and select bootable cd, and then add all your files to it. Though I prefer working with the ISO files when burning Linux.

Ok, thanks Fobside :)

Just one more question: when I go to the SuSe Linux ISO, I see that it's called 'suse-7.0-evaluation.iso'

What's meant with 'evaluation'?

It means its an evaluation CD!

The last one I saw, it would create some files ( for /home, /etc and tmp )in your windows partitions and work out of the CD-Rom. It would not install in a partition and copy files like on would expect it to do!!

Aww... that's bad...

two questions:

1. why would they make such a distro availabe if it doesn't install?

2. where can I get a non-evaluation, ISO of SuSe Linux 7.0?

Thanks.

Answers...

1) It like that because its an evaluation.....they intend that you check they product and
if you are interested you buy the package from them

2) I don't know, I don't know Suse very well, but I did install that Evaluation Version
on my home computer to check it out.

Do you really what to go with Suse? If you do, check out that evaluation, and if you like it
buy the original package, it has everything you need in a linux installation!

If not try Mandrake or Red-Hat that have Full-Version Iso Installation CDs, and the installation
of the os itself is quite simple also.
