Downloadable Wii content?

I just picked up a Wii and I'm surprised there isn't downloadable content for Wii games in particular. On the 360 for example you can buy new songs for Guitar Hero 3 but there is no option for this on the Wii.. is this something they are going to do in the future?

They announced it about a month back they were going to have DLC for the Wii. Link
Not sure how it's going to work yet. I don't foresee myself downloading anything new for it though unless that release something really compelling.

if N is going to really promote DLC, they're going to need to do something about the 512MB internal memory limitation.

They should really either allow or release some sort of external HDD addon for the Wii, another 20GB of space that you could actually run software off of would make all the difference.

At the very least they need to make the SD and internal memory work together and add support for SDHC.
