Not a hot deals thread.

Reason I'm asking this is becuase I've received several emails in different accounts about this company, 'Downloadable Software'. Each email ends up in my junk mail filter, but I get different URLs.

http://hex.pankomat.com/
http://ooh.vsezaeblo.com/

Sounds very suspicious - especailly with the fishy URLs.
Anyone used it or tried it? I mean, is this thing real or what? Excellent deals...but - what's the catch?

You telling me to pirate it, or saying that the software is pirated?

Edit: Damn - poster above answered it. In that case, nevermind, screw this.

Yeah. Gimme.

Meh...is there any cheap place to get XP Pro without pirating it?
OEM copies you can snag from newegg etc. Of course those aren't THAT cheap.

It's not really free. Your College pays Microsoft some fat check every couple of years for a campus license. And you get to use the software while you attend. And once you graduate you can apply to get a legal license. And you pay for it in your tuition.

Reason I'm asking was beucase I got a deal from WPI for $5 - but I could only use that once... I'll probaly snag it from the egg.

Are you KIDDING me? $50 is a total ripoff; you can almost get WinXP legit for that. You CAN in certain circumstances.

Yeah, you pay it in your tuition, but you keep the license when you graduate, you don't have to "apply" or anything. At least I didn't have to. I also picked up a copy of XP for pretty cheap with the "Go Pro" promotion from a while back.
