Downloadable Retail Games

I like the game delivery system that Valve uses for HL2 and CS:S, and whatnot. I wish I could just buy games online with my credit card and download them. I want to do this with WoW, but I dont think I can?

Any other downloadable retail games?

I agree, love that system, then one boring evening you can just buy a game and download it right away

oh and I think city of heroes and guild wars is like that as well, even though you get much more if you buy the retail version (at least with city of heroes)

I'm not sure about WOW, but like Eve Online, a lot of the MMORPGs are like that (Anarchy Online, AC1/AC2, etc)....they make money off the monthly fee, so it makes sense to make full downloads accessible.

I just bought Guild Wars retail last night... 50 bucks. For 50 bucks I should be able to sit in my house and download the it.

I hear people dont like Steam but for me it has been nothing but a pleasure. No more having to search around for my CDs and then find the keys that go with them whenever I reinstall.

Simply install the client and let it cook over night.
All patches are done automatically so I dont need to hit FP or the vendors website.

I actually wouldnt mind if more games delivered this way.
