Wanted to share this extreme COD-2 benchmark demo, lots of smoke, lots of explosions, lots of german corpses and constant lightning effects.

Download

Just make sure you use FRAPs and simple demo command for the most accurate results.

you need to copy this demo file where the COD-2 demo files are located. Its a custom timedemo designed as a benchmark used by sbrlabs.

Once you've pasted the file in the COD-2 demos folder, run the game, enable console from the options and type either "demo sbrlabs_cod2" or "timedemo sbrlabs_cod2".

The timedemo is faulty on ym end so i use FRAPS in the background and run the normal demo command.

I put that file into 3 different COD2 subdirectories, because I have no idea where it goes. I then ran the console and it says it can't run DEMOS/SBRLABS_COD2.

Can you tell me exactly where it needs to go? I can't find a DEMOS subdirectory.

Start from here: Program Files/Call of Duty2/

Thanks!

He means recorded game demonstration files, not the limited version of game.

If you don't have a demos dir, create one.

Yes it does, try both demo and demos and put the extracted file in both. Hasn't anyone tried it already?

Why can't you run ?

Do you see a folder "main" in the COD-2 directory. Thats where you need to make a "demos" folder i.e COD-2>main>demos>sbrlabs_cod2

Thats all you need to do, you may already have a demos folder in the C)D-2/main, if not, create it.

Now give us the ****** AVERAGE :|

;)

Bleh..ok excluding the first portion with all the 3's the avg is ~26.67 fps. Personally I think the OP is right and the timedemo function is screwy. I'll go test it with FRAPs now.

Edit:

Ok the timedemo results were messed up. Here are the FRAPs results:

Avg: 42.36 fps
Max: 75 fps
Min: 24 fps

The COD-2 Timedemo is messy. If you run it twice without restarting the game, all hell will break loose, the entire demo will run at 3x the speed or start ahead of time or sometimes result in an error. Thats why i recommend FRAPS, the built-in benchmark utility is a good example of current EA progress.

I average 26-29 with my X800 Pro OCed to 525/500. Check the rest of the specs on the website itself.
