I am running Win ME, and any and every time i try to download any kinf of attached file in an e-mail, or an attached file on a web page...the file download screen opens with the 2 nice folders, and the file that looks likes it's coming out of the left one, and into the right one...and it just keeps doing that indeffinitely without the percentage meter, time elapsed meter, or anything. I made sure i had all the appropriate options selected under Tools-->Internet Options menus. Has anyone ever encountered this before? A free  to anyone who can figure this one out!

Thanks

sounds like you have some sort of Download lock/accessibility block on your setup.

Check the control panels -> internet settings -> security tab.

Make sure you have download enabled (check or dial box). Also check the other selections and make sure you set them the way you want, such as enabled or prompt for download, etc. Try that first. I don't know ME that well but it is basically like Win 98.

lemme know if that does it for you, if not it may be user setting/limitation or even a router/firewall software setting. If you have active firewall software running make sure it is set to allot you to download.
