Submitting your IP address is like saying "Hey i already stole a bunch of songs, here's my IP. I just want to check if i can steal more."

As far as Im aware of EFF.org was a reputable site. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and i'll quickly edit out the post.

The EFF suggests turning off sharing on p2p clients.
Does that not defeat the whole purpose?

i think so, but as far as i know, eff.org is not about file sharing and couldnt care less. They just dont like the way RIAA does things and infringes on people's digital freedom.

That wasn't the impression I was left with.
Did you read any of their articles ?
They are definitely PRO Copyright Holder Rights, which is not to say they endorse the RIAA tactics.
Being PRO Digital Freedom doesn't mean that copyrights are nullified. Which means most downloading without compensation to the Copyright Holder wouldn't be allowed.
The EFF is on the right track , I believe.

I agree. I never had an ill word to utter about the EFF.
I was just strictly talking about the function and suggestions of use of functions of p2p networks/clients by the EFF.

I haven't been following this very well....is it just the music industry in the US or can they get you globally?
