Windows does not require special drivers for IDE CD writers. If it shows up on your device manager list, the drive should be functional.
 
Yup, you don't need any special drivers.

Can you use the drive as a normal CDROM drive? If you can you will just need to install some burning software (i.e. Nero, EasyCD Creator, CloneCD etc) and you should be away. If you have Windows XP it has burning software built in.

If you cannot see the CDROM drive under My Computer, let us know you may not have the drive installed properly.
