Downgrading WinXP (Pro to Home)

My desktop computer came w/ XP Home OEM, but I needed Pro, so I formatted and installed Pro. I bought a laptop a couple of days ago that came w/ Home OEM, so I'd like to install Pro on it (as it will be my main rig) and downgrade XP on my desktop to Home.

Is it possible to downgrade just installing XP OEM over my Pro version or I'm forced to format it and reinstall all the software?
 
Unless there is some third party hack, I'm pretty sure the only option is to reinstall in order to downgrade.
 
Pro to Home isn't a support migration path, you'd have to reinstall
