Downgrading Live account?

Just got off the phone and downgraded my Gold account to Silver. I had 1 problem with that though. They said if i don't Reactivate it back to Goldin 2 months my account will be deleted?

Is this true?
 
Shouldn't be. Silver accounts are supposed to last just as long as Gold accounts; ie until you decide to turn them off.

Thats what i was thinking. Maybe they told me that so i wouldn't cancel my account?
 
I've had mine at silver for almost six months now, after letting my gold membership lapse. They definitely don't delete it after two months.
