Selling my 7950 as it's too powerful for my needs and I need some extra cash.

Looking at either a 7850 or GTX 650 ti.

Leaning towards the 650 ti as I prefer nvidia.

Since they are pretty much the same price, I'm wondering if there will be a massive downfall in choosing the 650ti over the 7850?

Edit: Just seen http://www.tomshardware.com/news/GeForce-gtx-650-ti-Free-Game-Assassins-Creed,18326.html looks like I'm going with this card then!

How much are you going to loose selling your 7950 used? Id it really worth buying a 650ti/7850?

Had an offer the other day for that.

Then that person is incredibly naive. These cards are going for $329 Max. Anyone willing to buy a used card for more than its worth new is really stupid.

Unless you live somewhere where you can't get it for that price, of course.

i would not choose a GTX 650 Ti over a HD 7850 as the performance gap is to big and would be widen even farther when the HD 7850 is oc'd and there both around the same price.

28% performance difference with AMD CCC 12.8 and with the new AMD CCC 12.11 drivers the HD 7850 gets another 5% boost that's 33% faster for the same cost

The GTX 650 Ti will be a massive downgrade. in fact too much. Get the HD 7850. its close to 40% faster than GTX 650 Ti. Overclocked the gap widens.

The 7850 is MUCH faster than GTX650Ti. At the similar price the 7850 is without doubt the best choice.

Why would you downgrade from a 7950 to a 550. At least downgrade in a way where you wont see FPS difference and things will still be smooth... grab a 560 Ti or 660 Ti
That would be good for your situation and you can pocket some nice cash off the sell of the 7950. gl

+1 to that. You will be disappointed going from a 7950 to a 650 Ti, but the difference between a 7950 and a 7850 isn't that huge.

How much difference are you looking at between what you can get for the 7950 and will pay for the 7850 (assuming you're buying new) over there? Here in Australia, it's really not much (around $50 roughly) and not worth the trouble IMO.

Get a 7850... but you're kicking yourself in the ass for needing some cash now.
