This question pertains to my office computer, which is running Win2k.
My office computer... started up as an WinXP. Most of my company's computer were upgraded to Win2k (from Win98/ME). My computer, was downgraded (learned that the XP wasn't legit). There was sound, my OE was working fine, and now with the downgrade... my system isn't top notch.
One of the thing is quite disturbing -- There's no sound icon on my taskbar. I went to Control Panel > Sound, and that little check box is grayed out. When I right-click My Computer > Properties > Device Manager, there's an exclamation mark next to C-Media AC97 Audio Device.
What should I do now? How may I solve this problem... where can I find my solution?
Ironically, my home computer (XP) is using Avance AC97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller. Is there anyway I can copy the driver that I am currently using, and install it in my office computer? If so... how many files are there that I need to copy, the names, where may I find them, how do I install?
Thanks in advance.
