Downgrade? y/n?

Ok so I had a P4'A' 2.4 running at 2.7. Along with a gig of 1066mhz RDRAM. My motherboard fried, so I used it as an excuse to distance myself from rambus forever. So off to ebay it went. In the meantime, I decided to spend as minimal as possible (as I'm waiting for A64 mobo's with SLI to appear), and got a mobile athlon 2400 (45w), shuttle an35n ultra, and 512 (2x256) kingston hyperx (low latency). I got a VA4-C7040 (some aeroflow heatsink) to cool the 2400. I plan on OC'ing it as high as I can. Everything is here, except my CPU which arrives tomorrow. I was wondering if this is a significant 'downgrade', or if this should be about equal to my P4. Also, what are people's thoughts on the an35n? Good overclocker? Stable? Anything? Well any replies y'all can muster will be appreciated thoroughly.

The AN35N is a monster - it's what I used to get my Tbred 1700+ to 2.4GHz. You might need to add northbridge cooling if you plan to push the FSB over 200 though.

Far as a downgrade, RDRAM might have been proprietary and made of Unobtainium, but it was damn good stuff. I'd say with a good OC (2.2GHz+) you should be "about even" but there's a lotta factors to tell here.

Anyone else? I won't be able to find out for myself until tonight, as I am working 11-9. Hopefully someone will be home to sign for it. I will be pissed if I have to wait for it to be redelivered tomorrow. Bahhhhh! Come onnnnn athlon!
