Downgrade 6800 to 6600GT?

Title says it all. I'm selling my eVGA 6800 to get a card that has dual DVI outputs. The only 6800 option I have seen is an XFX card for $260. I have an AXP 2600 so I'm not going fo rth ebest, but will I notice any difference in performance if I revert back to 6600GT? Or should I stick with the 6800?

I want to step up from just the regular 6800, and I can afford it, but I don't know if I can justify 300-350 on a single peripheral when there's so much more that money could do. I suppose if I was guaranteed years of performance from the card then I would/will.

ask youself do you really need dual DVI? IMHO, VGA on a quality LCD is actually pretty good, and as long as you have DVI driving the monitor you'll be looking at most you should be fine.

Well of course don't really need dual dvi. I don't even really need two monitors, but that's besides the point. I'm also trying to lean towards something in a 256MB flavor, but then again, I have no clue if these cards are capable of taking advantage of all that video ram at this present time.
