ah gotcha
yeah just my FC is 20 right now, couple others @ 19, Avitus and Thule I think. I've had the final mission available for 5 or 6 missions now, I want to gear up a bit more before I take it on.

I wish I had done that, but no big deal. It didn't take that long to get to the last mission. I wish the campaign was longer, but I'm sure there will be an expansion.

By the time I played the final mission, all my characters were maxed out level except thaddeus, but thaddeus sucks.

BTW, Primarch difficulty basically necessitates the use of the scout and his reviving abilities. And melee is worthless. Thaddeus is only kind of useful at melee after he gets terminator armor (constant teleports while in battle), and the force commander is better as an ativus part 2 than a melee fighter.

If I run through the campaign again i'll definitely be skilling the fc for ranged. I agree on thaddeus too btw, mostly. He's excellent for disrupting a large group or entrenched ranged units but the damage is so so even on sergeant. Avitus i've used on all but 1 mission iirc. And I actually use the scout's insta res quite a bit, esp. for boss attacks :)

Primarch sounds more like a pain in the ass than anything else.

If Thaddeus sucks, you are not using him correctly.

Once he gets Terminator Honours + Terminator Armour and the ability to be invincible for a short time after jumping/teleporting, both Thaddeus and his squad become 90% invulnerable for as long as you have energy.

Does that include his short teleports in battle?

And please, you don't get terminator armor until basically the end of the game, and getting both terminator armour and the invulnerability jumps requires nearly maxing out two separate skill lines I believe. If the invulnerable teleports counts for the mini teleports, he would be quite unstoppable then, otherwise you'll need a lot of micro to keep him going.

Usually in the heat of battle, its hard to see a mini teleport or circle underneath the AT's unless you are watching them like a hawk. They don't seem to attack-teleport often but I do believe they obtain the invulnerable bonus from that too.

Terminator Armour can be obtained mid-game and by that time you should have Terminator Honours and the Invulnerable jump skill or be very close to it.

Thaddeus is an ever-present in my squads, obtaining the invulnerable jump as early as possible really massacres early-mid mobs and the suppression it provides allows his squad to escape relatively unharmed if you aim properly, luring enemies back into your Devastator killzone.

I havent played the Campaign in a week or so, restarted a tester on Recruit difficulty for simplicity so Im a bit sketchy but Id believe that you could have Thaddeus with invulnerable jump and terminator hounrs/armour by level 12-14.

Ad really, Thaddeus is the only squad member that truely benefits from Terminator Armour. His teleports are low cost and spammable, theres a window of a mere 1-2s when his invulnerablity wears off before he can teleport again. Avitus becomes bugged and arguably weaker with Terminator Armour (His squadmates trade HB's for SB's and tend to run away), Tarkus loses grenades and if he had Veterans then he loses plasma weapons and the Force Commander loses his Rally! banners.

It is an interesting mix.

When you say the dreadnought rocks does it last longer/do more damage or something? It does a lot of damage sure but bosses maul the crap out of it.

Well I didnt find primarch all that hard as in captain I killed everything on the map and primarch I just pressed ahead for the objectives and tried to get a more balanced score

I use the dread to basicly spam his specail with the hellfire rounds that pretty much kills huge mobs although he does sometimes (well most times destroy the cover as well ) So when the boss carnifex comes on a defend mission I have my FC charge (and hes temp invunerable ) then I crank out the arc of death with my Dread it really takes the Boss down alot

Yeah, spammable, honestly i never thought to spam teleport and take advantage of the invulnerability like that. Seems more like abusing the game than anything else but then i usually try to make things a bit harder for myself, lol.

I agree on Avitus being bugged with terminator armour on, just gave him the plasma cannon! I found that Tarkus is powerful wearing it though, even missing plasma weaponry and frags imo. I use the cyclone missile launcher to make up for the lack of nades, though i can always fit them on someone else. Gave Tarkus the health pills..

I also fitted the FC with terminator armor and two nice blessing type auxiliary items making him very tough and able to do serious damage (1300dps). I'm actually looking at a different build right now, using damage resistance and a badass halo force field.

BTW I bought CoH too :)
running through the campaign. Units seem a bit unresponsive and cover a little...buggy? compared with DoW2. But it's pretty good.

Depends on the order you do the missions. I did the nid and ork missions first, so I didn't get terminator armor until basically the final mission appeared. (as well as a huge amount of conversation after the one mission) I found the eldar missions disproportionately difficult, seeing as how warpspiders, warlocks, and seer councils all basically one shotted everything except the dreadnaught.
I'd agree tarkus is better without terminator armor (4 plasma guns).
The terminator armor basically gives ativus several of his leveled up traits, plus I think he shoots it faster. While his partners died much quicker once in terminator armor, I found that he himself lasted far longer. The gun he gets it also way more accurate than the heavy bolter (despite not doing more damage) and seems to be a trade for firepower over suppression.

The force commander could probably be better without terminator armor, especially if you give him a heavy gun. He gets better armor than terminator on his own anyway.

I haven't played DoW2 but I really enjoyed CoH Gold. I still practicing in skermish mode until I get the hang of all the different units but I really enjoyed single player. Great graphics and sounds.

Now that the game has been out for a while longer, I'm gonna revive this thread and ask:

How does the multiplayer compare to CoH? My first impression was it's basically CoH lite since there seems to be much less units and abilities.
