Hi

I'm an outsider and I'm going to Orlando-US next year, I was hoping to buy a lot of electronics such as notebook, graphic cards, cell phone, etc.

I was hoping to find a good store that you can test in real time, play a game or do a benchmark test, with a cool and profissional employees to attend me.

Since I have no way to get any warranty (being an outsider) testing the product is extremely important.

The only biggest store I know is DirectTiger, although I don't know if they'd do that kind of test there. I know aswell BestBuy and Walmart but I am sure they won't do that.

Anyone could indicate me stores that can be trust and can do an ingame test?
Good prices are highly welcome.

Thank you.

First, you are probably coming to Orlando to go to Mickeyworld, Sleezeworld or some other "attraction". Second, since you refer to yourself as an "outsider" I can only surmise that you are Brazilian, Irish or a Brit since those comprise the majority of our "outsiders" here.

Since your secondary goal is to purchase consumer electronics at a discount I would stay far away from any stores in the Florida Mall. These stores jack up their prices just for foreigners. I will assume that you are referring to Tiger Direct (aka CompUSA) when you refer to "DirectTiger". There is a store just north of the FM on South OBT that seems OK, I've been there once before and they seemed honest enough.

OP, if you are looking to actually load game software on a floor model computer/laptop ... I doubt any retailer will allow that. For the HUGE amount of money that you/your family are going to spend to fly here, pay to visit the parks and stay in a hotel ... you might as well buy directly from a local (to you) retailer. Once you leave you will be out of luck if the unit dies on you.

is there a microcenter down there? thats your best bet

Microcenter is a very minor bit player in the retail market with a measly 23 stores. The nearest one is nearly 500 miles away in Atlanta.

... And they closed their store in Santa Clara which I was annoyed to discover when I was there a few weeks back.

Nah, Magic Kingdom is just for kids, I am going to Blizzard Beach, Busch Gardens and others "hardcore-like" parks.

Don't be so negative, I am asking for stores, if really there is none at all, I will bring it to the hotel and test it there, no problem.

Hope someone knows

Drive 200+ miles to Ft Lauderdale Swap Shop or continue to Flagler St in Miami if you want electronic deals. However, you need to know what you want; they will not coddle you.

I lived in Orlando for 17 or so years and left in 2011. I don't know of any store like that.

We had some good computer stores in the 90s and early 00s but they're gone now.

It's way too far, I am not saying there for long.

Another alternative is:

I buy for example a VGA in a store such as TigerDirect, take it to a "Repair Store", tell them to test (pay if necessary) in a pc.

So I'm going to change my question (the old one still up) are there good "repair stores" where we can test VGAs and play something or run a test on 3Dmark, etc?

I lived in Orlando for the better part of 35 years. I now live in Tampa. Neither city has anything like what you are looking for, and I'm not sure any city in the US does. I take that back. Quantum 3D is still in business in Orlando and they could demo some smoking systems for you but their systems don't meet the second part of your request (good prices).

What is the purpose of wanting to do benchmarks? You can find that information on websites and then create a build based on a system whose benchmarks you like. Your request seems...odd.

I need a real time benchmark test to know if the product is working properly, if so, the test should give me a FPS close to what I know, if not, lower.

Since I cannot return or use any warranty polity I need to know if the component is working fine before buying it.

I will bring a benchmark paper to the store and tell them to test the same product on the paper, and see if the scores are match. If so, the product has no manufacturing problem.

Are there no stores that sell computer parts where you are from so you can return a defective component? With a username like Bergami I would assume you are from Italy. Surely there are computer part suppliers there?

nearly every computer parts sales place has diagnostic tests they can run for a fee. they won't let you do that yourself, though. some will do an assembly and test, also for a fee.

It's my family name, although I don't live in Italy, even being an Italy name.

Even so, If anyone who doesn't live in US buy any thing there it doesn't have any warranty, Warranty are only granted for US citizens.

For sure, if I buy a Asus laptop and bring it back home with a manufacturing problem it would be really sad, but I could send it to the nearest Asus store here for repair, but this could be really expensive in my country and I'd have no guarantee that the laptop would work properly.

I need a 100% guarantee in the store before buying it, I don't mind paying for a full diagnostic. I need stores that do that. For example: Does TigerDirect do such thing?

they have a support counter. they may even test it for you before you buy.

if you have enough time to put the system together, you can test and return parts if they don't work.

any other big stores that do that?

Edit.

I won't buy a complete system in US. Things I intend to buy is: Two VGAs, a SSD, a Laptop and a cellphone, only it.
