My external HDD, I ejected it through Windows 10, the LED remained on, I went to pull the USB 3.0 cable from the USB extension and the cable disconnected quickly, my hand bumped into the side of the HDD case, did this cause damage and bad sectors on the HDD?

because?

Too many HDD threads.
Pick one or two that you have already posted in and use those.

Because a head slap takes significant force.
Probably even more than that.
Technically, a head slap is when the drive's read/write head impacts the platter when the drive isn't spinning. Which doesn't happen anymore with self-parking heads. But why let that stand in the way of a good, and otherwise accurate, joke?
