I saw this over on FatWallet.com. Apparently ZDNet offers a program called ZDRewards that will give you a low price gaurantee for 90 days. So if you find a lower price within 90 days they will refund you the difference. Also, they double the manufacturer warranty of a product up to one year. So if you have something with a 3 month warranty, they'll make it 6, and something with a 2 year warranty will have 3 years coverage if you join ZDRewards.

It's $6.95 a month, so 84 bucks a year, but you get access to some of their other services and a free magazine too!

They're running a 1 month trial offer for $1.

AmEx offers the same warranty with no additional fee, that is in addition to their CC base fee.

I suppose then this can be offerred to those who don't want an Amex or in addition to if you max out the price matching amount on Your Amex. Also, on FatWallet.com, they were talking about doing a double price match, one for amex blue and another for ZDRewards. Don't know how legal or ethical that is, but it does exist.

Just to give everyone aheads up on this thing. This is a good deal for those that don't allready have a price matching policy on their card. But if you buy something with amex blue it wont work. They will tell you you need to contact the card issuer and request a price match. Also its the same with some stores you buy at. They will ask you to make the price match thru the store. Not quite the same as the blue deal. At least blue is nice and easy.
Here's how I thought this would work-
" buy item A at sears for 100.00, find it later at walmart for 50.00. request 50.00 back from blue and then another 50.00 from zdnet. maybe get it for free. Good in theory but zdnet watches for stuff like this. so in affect they tell me to pricematch thru amex.
Then when I bitched and thru a fit, they pointed out a small clause in the agreement." must exaust every possiable means of adjustment available ,,ie..store policy or credit card policy first.
anyway it turned out to be a big bumbblephuc waiste of time. But if anyone else has gotten it to work please let us know.
My matra " FREE IS GOOD"

Hmmm...how would ZD Rewards know if you intend to use Blue for the Best Value Guarantee? Some Blue cards don't even qualify for BVG.
