Double stacking 80mm case fans

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to double stack case fans? If I did this, would it increase the air flow out of my case? Has anyone done this? Please advise.

Thank you!

noit wouldn't. I remember awhile back we had a long disscussion about the possiblity of stacking fans. it doesn't increase air flow. I knwo this because we actually did it in a theormal lab. stacking 2 fans was the same as a single fan.

and I believe it was a little loluder.

fans might act against eachother and cause the air to flow funny, that would make them louder than if they were not stacked. And as cheapgoose said, cause them to not push any extra air.

I too tried this years ago. Best I remember; more noise, more airflow but caused turbulence=less cooling.
