Im doing EE right now and I figured out I could pickup an ME in about an extra 4 quarters. A masters in EE would take about 4 quarters too, so its about equal. Which would I be better off in the job market with?

No.

I concur

double concur.

I think w/ a masters, your potential employers can see that you are specialized in a more specific area, and that will be more marketable...

The reason why I was contemplating it was because I thought that if I got two engineering degrees it might make it easier to eventually get into a managerial position, since Id have a broader range of knowledge.

I would get the MSEE. If you're interested in MechE, depending on your program, you can even take MechE courses while getting your MSEE if they're cross-listed, and also you may be able to take some "breadth" courses which are outside of your field.

If you know how to make burgers, fries, AND milkshakes, McDonalds will stick you behind the counter for minimum wage. If you're the world expert on milk shakes, McDonalds will pay you $$$ to come up with new, cheaper, better "partially gelatinated non-dairy gum based beverages"

:D

Point is: specialize :)

The return on investment is MUCH higher with a masters degree, than with another undergrad degree.

Take the masters, no doubt.

You shouldn't even be asking this question. No matter what you do, the MS will look much better than just the double major. I'd say that an MSEE would be much better for management than just a double major. It would also look better for MBA schools.
