Double lock gun safe?

I am looking for a gun safe with twin locks so as to prevent the chance that one person going crazy would be able to open the safe and hurt themselves or others.

Anyone know of any twin lock safes that work as gun safes?

double lock safes? never heard of those...

get a good safe and you won't have to worry about anyone getting in.

if you have to worry about that shit, you probably shouldn't have a gun.

^ Yup, if the OP's crazy, he really shouldn't be owning any guns in the 1st place.

gun safes just make it take longer to get access to your gun when needed. Same with trigger locks.

I prefer education and leaving guns easily accessible.

Store ammo in one safe and firearm in a second one?

That would have the same net effect....

Although this is still a really stupid idea....

i educate my kids as well, as well as have a 9mm that i carry everywhere. they could possibly get that without me seeing (ya right) but the ones in the cabinet are there under separate lock and key to keep temptation down when im not around. so, i have access to my gun when i need it since its on me, and the ones in the cabinet are locked up. metal cabinet btw, pretty solid. oh, i use trigger locks on those as well.

I got my safe from http://www.patriotsafe.com/. They have a lock that requires a special laser etched key plus a pin code (or secondary override key). Either way 2 pieces are needed to open the safe.

Agreed, partially. My situation is different from many people because I live by myself so I don't have to worry about kids finding the guns and shooting themselves or their friends with them.

When I am at home, my gun is always with me. Full magazine in the well, no round in the chamber, trigger in the "safe" position (locked back). It can't go off accidentally that way, but if I should need it, all I have to do is rack the slide.

When I'm away, I'd prefer not to leave my gun in the open. I just got it so I don't have a safe yet, but I'm thinking of getting one. Still, the main thing I'm trying to do is prevent theft, not unauthorized access, and as far as I know most small safes are really easy to break into. So I'm not sure what I'll do. For now I just leave the gun unloaded and out of sight, and the ammo is in a different location (also out of sight).

OP, you'll really have to specify what you intend the safe to do.

I'd like to get a gun safe to keep the guns safe and to keep documents and that sort of thing in in case of a fire. I doubt if it were a real emergency I could load up a 30-06 and get a shot off in time. And lets face it, that's too much gun. The other alternative would be me .22, also a bit difficult to wield quickly in a small house. So they're not going to help much.

All the guns when I was growing up were unlocked and had no trigger locks.

I didn't dare even step a foot into my parents room without them there though.

lol, you want something with two keys you have to have turned by two separate people at the same time?

Maybe you should look at a government auction for a surplus safe for nuclear launch codes.

same way i grew up. nothing wrong with a bit of added security tho. especially if someone breaks into my house. they arent going to get into the cabinet without making a shitton of noise, and they surely arent walking out with it.

Well...we lived in the middle of cotton fields which my grandparents owned, waaay out in BFE. Nobody came out there. We could leave doors to everything unlocked and leave keys in cars.

Sad that we really can't do that anymore.
