Double-clicking desktop shortcuts opens file finder

Everytime I try to open a desktop chortcut by double-clicking on the icon, windows file finder opens.

I was customizing my desktop and I'm not sure how I enabled this.

Any ideas?

Umm, I'm not *exactly* sure what you're saying, but if it's what I think it is, your shortcut points to a file that doesn't exist.
