Impressive, given the huge 2 MB L2 cache. Looks like Pentium-Ms of a given generation will have 2x as much cache as high end desktop processors (Prescott is a 1 MB cache part).

I can't remember where I read it, but Intel also demonstrated a Samsung notebook using a Dothan Pentium M.

I'm really confused now - I need a notebook for school, but I don't NEED it need it, I could wait till next summer tops... should I go for Centrino-banias now, or will the Centrino-dothan offer a major improvement? Anybody know, if the dothan will have 802.11g wireless tech?

If you don't need a machine now, don't buy one 🙂 If you need a machine, get a notebook with a Pentium-M and an 802.11g wireless card.

Dothan will be faster than Banias, but for the vast majority of tasks, Banias is fast enough. If you buy a Banias Pentium-M system today, it won't be obsolete for quite awhile.
