I recently did a complete reformat and reinstall of OS X on my MacBook Pro (17" Early 2011).
Everything is working fine except, whenever I close the Calendar app window (NOT quitting the app) and then click on any other app or the finder, the dot next to the Calendar app in the dock disappears. On my other Macs, the dot remains.
This only happens with the Calendar app and, otherwise, Calendar works perfectly.
It seems like Calendar is still running; it shows up in the Force Quit dialogue box and the app icon does not bounce when I click back onto it. Interestingly, if I turn off "Keep in Dock", it will disappear from the dock entirely when I do as described above, but STILL remains in the Force Quit box.
I recall this happening to me many years ago, on a different machine and with a different version of OSX. I recall that I solved the problem, but I cannot remember how I did it, nor can I find the solution online (I can't really even find anyone else having this problem!).
Any thoughts or possible solutions?
