I noticed that in the online documentation of DOSBOX-X for the CPU speed table, it lists the Pentium II 300 at 200,000 cycles and then under it the Pentium III 866 at 407,000 cycles. That seems like a nearly triple the CPU speed just to get around double the CPU performance and that seems way off. For real hardware (not emulation), is there a situation where a Pentium III 866 is only around twice as fast as a Pentium II 300 in a CPU bound scenario? Also I checked out DOSBOX Pure in Batocera, and it still lists the Pentium II 300 at 200,000 cycles but a Pentium III 600 at 500,000 cycles. Also DOSBOX-X lists an Athlon 600 as 306,000 cycles, which is way lower than the listed 500,000 cycles of the Pentium III 600 listed in DOSBOX Pure but in real life the Athlon 600 had around the same performance, give or take a few percent in either direction, as the Pentium III 600E in CPU bound scenarios based on the benchmarks I seen online. As I said both DOS emulators list the Pentium II 300 as 200,000 cycles but any higher level CPU's above the listed Pentium II 300 show a huge discrepancy between these two DOS emulators. See the discrepancy here?
